A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us for the purpose of answering it. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information whenever a page loads:
- Page-view times and the pages visited

- Time spent on individual pages
- The referring website, when available

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies where Kershaw County records may be requested from local courts, the sheriff, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry. Government access is governed by the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, while S.C. Code Section 23-3-120 governs repository information and fingerprint reporting. Those public-record laws do not turn visitor data into a government record. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy governs information entered into its tool, including how long it keeps data and when it shares it. We do not control those choices. Read the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court portals, sheriff pages, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks that serve ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
